Maps and Views

2021: DR ANTOINE CACHIA & his family have made a further donation to the Augustinian community and the Community Interpretation Centre. This donation will be a very significant, valuable and important donation to our Archive and Collection. It will be definitely exhibited in the area of the Archive/Bibilioteca where it is safe and may be viewed by visitors. This series of maps and views is significant for the collection because it thematically enhances the Interpretation Centre and Museum which has a direct connection to the legacy of the Knights of the Order of St.John. It will also increase the intrinsic value of the diverse objects that connect the Augustinian Order and the Order of St.John which were very close. The Soverign Military Order followed the Augustinian rule and they were key to the establishment of the Church and Priory in Valletta. This is one of a series of donations by Dr Antoine Cachia who has also sustained the collection with a number of paintings (2018-2022).
