The Foundation was established to encourage further education in the community, organise cultural activities and organise activities aimed at the conservation of its heritage assets and promote research, regenerate and restore the architectural fabric of the site through community-based partnerships.

Fr Leslie Gatt OSA

Prior Provincial

Fr Leslie Gatt OSA is the Prior Provincial and has been involved directly since 2021 in the ERDF 05.113 SCOPE Project and to direct the restoration projects on the ground.

Joseph Bezzina

Chairman

Perit Joseph Bezzina is the current Chair at the Foundation. He directs and coordinates the administrative and executive components of the Council. In the past decades, he has used his experience in the delivery of projects especially from the architectural and design aspects.

Edward Debono

Secretary

Dr Edward Debono is the Secretary to the Foundation. He is responsible for the legal aspects and supports the maintenance of the Foundation’s statute and related constitutional and contractual obligations.

Paul Vassallo

Treasurer

Mr Paul Vassallo is the Treasurer of the Foundation and a member of the Council for the past terms. He is responsible for coordinating the financial aspects of the Foundation.

 

 

Fr Alexander Cauchi OSA

Council Member: Project Development

Fr Alexander Cauchi OSA is currently the Parish Priest at St. Augustine’s Valletta, and he has been the Project Leader for the ERDF 05.113 SCOPE Project since 2018. He is also the curator and manages and administers project funding.

 

Fr Nazzareno Saliba OSA

Council Member: Project Development
Fr Nazzereno Saliba OSA is currently the Prior for the Valletta priory. He is a dynamic and practical member of the Foundation’s Council and assists and directs works on the ground.

William Blundell

Council Member

Mr William Blundell is a Council member, and he contributes significantly to the Evaluation Committee, which processes tenders, CFQs and contracts as part of the project management team.

 

 

Denis Darmanin

Council Member: Project Monitoring

Mr Denis Darmanin has been involved in the various restoration projects at the Church and Priory since the 1990s. As a historian and through gained experience in project monitoring, he has been vital in keeping track of the works in progress. He has also been a volunteer for the past decades.
